What we process and why
- Purchase: the payment is handled by Paddle.com, independent controller of your name, email, address and payment details (Paddle's privacy policy). From Paddle we receive the transaction number and the email, used only to send you the key: we don't store it on our server.
- License: the key contains no name or email. To check it, the app sends the site the key, a random identifier created by the app (not derived from the Mac) and the Mac's model name (e.g. "MacBook Pro"). If the license has a device limit, the site keeps the identifier, model and the dates of activation and last check until the device is deactivated.
- Find your license: the email you enter is used only to ask Paddle for your purchases and to send your keys there; we don't keep it. To limit abuse we keep a non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address for one hour.
- Updates: the app periodically asks the site for new versions, sending only its version number and language.
- Website: like every website, the server logs IP addresses and requested pages, for security. The purchase page loads Paddle.js, which may use the cookies needed for the payment.
Legal bases: performance of the contract (delivering and checking the license) and legitimate interest (security, request limits). We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to your country's data protection authority.
